Paws Abroad LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal info: name, email, contact info
- Pet info: name, breed, weight, health/travel requirements
- Travel details: origin, destination, dates
- Payment details (processed via third-party processor)
- Analytics data (via cookies, pixels, and third-party tools)
2. How We Use Information
We use data to:
- Provide custom travel checklists and services
- Deliver concierge upgrades and route recommendations
- Send email/SMS updates, if opted in
- Improve platform functionality and user experience
3. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and analytics tools to understand which parts of our Services are useful and to improve the product.
Analytics consent is region-aware. Visitors from the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or an unknown region are asked to opt in before optional analytics run. Visitors from other regions may have optional analytics enabled by default, and can opt out at any time.
You can manage optional analytics for this browser at Privacy choices or through your browser settings.
4. Interactive Map & Community Features
Our interactive map allows users to opt-in to location sharing and community features:
- Home Location: You may provide your home city/country to appear on the community map. This is optional and can be set to "never visible."
- Visibility Preferences: Choose "never," "only while traveling," or "always visible." Default is "only while traveling."
- Travel Status: If visible, the map shows your approximate location based on your active travel report dates.
- Granularity: We display city-level locations only (not precise addresses).
5. User-to-User Messaging
Users can send direct messages to connect with other travelers:
- Rate Limits: Maximum 5 new conversations per day to prevent spam.
- Message Content: Messages are limited to 500 characters and stored securely.
- Reporting: You can report inappropriate messages. We review reported messages and may ban abusive users.
- Data Retention: Messages are retained unless you delete your account. See Section 7 for deletion details.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We may share it with third-party partners (e.g. airline concierge, customer support) to deliver Services.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
If you are in the EU or California, you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
Account Deletion: When you delete your account:
- Your user_locations are immediately removed from the community map
- Your submitted map resources are anonymized (submitter name removed, but approved resources remain visible)
- Your messages are anonymized (your user ID is replaced with "Deleted User" to preserve conversation context)
- Your travel reports and personal data are permanently deleted
- This process takes effect immediately and cannot be undone

8. Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
